The Kitchen

The Kitchen

This large country kitchen is the heart of the house. Equipped with top-of-the-line professional appliances, a 10-burner Garland stove, and all the tools a gourmet cook craves. The rustic farmhouse table is perfect place for a quick lunch or to spread a breakfast buffet.  There’s even a TV for watching the market opening or late night laughs with bed time snacks.

The Dining Room

The Dining Room

Perfectly sized and appointed, with a long dining table for family and group dinners, it can also serve as a buffet room for cocktails before or dessert after dinner. Large French Doors open onto the Terrace.

The Parlor

The Parlor

A striking space with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows bringing in the surrounding forest. While it has a refined Victorian feel, it doubles as a relaxed family space with ample seating for all to lounge comfortably. As with the Dining Room, French doors open onto the Terrace.

The Reading Room

The Reading Room

A den, library and TV room, it’s the perfect place to curl up with a book from the eclectic library, play games or watch a favorite film. With the doors closed, this warm, intimate space hushes sound, ideal for TV time after dinner or on a rainy day.

The Club Room

The Club Room

Step into an intimate 1940s style room, set with traditional leather chairs for relaxing drinks and conversation. It is open to passers-by, making it the perfect spot for those looking for casual, impromptu socializing.

The Veranda

The Veranda

In classic Victorian style, this bright and sheltered outdoor space wraps around the front of the home. It is a relaxed family area with overstuffed furniture, a hammock, a long dining table for causal outdoor meals and a grill – a must for every New England summer home.

The Bluestone Terrace

The Bluestone Terrace

Just outside the Parlor and Dining Room, secluded, facing the hillside and river gorge, the Terrace is just a few paces from the stairs down to the White River. Peaceful and uncovered it is ideal for early morning coffee or cocktails al fresco.

The Office

The Office

Upstairs, across the hall from the Frances Suite, this efficient space equipped with desk, chair and wireless printer, provides a quiet room for private calls, to do the work you’re escaping, or the homework due on Monday.

The Music Room

The Music Room

On the northwest side of the house, with entry from the veranda lies this delightful event space. At present we are only arranging events in conjunction with Vacation Rentals. Please check our Celebrate page for more information.

Frances Suite

Frances Suite

A true junior suite, it is the perfect hideaway from the rest of the house and features a queen bed, a private seating area and a day bed for afternoon naps. Windows on three sides offer views of the mountains and the barn. The en suite bath includes both a tub and a separate shower.

Sparhawk Suite

Sparhawk Suite

Wake up to the sunrise in this lovely suite that features a mahogany queen bed and seating.  With three windows you’ll enjoy views of the tiered garden and mountains.  The bath includes a tub with shower.

Victorian Suite

Centered on an Art Deco carpet original to the house are an antique mahogany queen bed, settee and chairs. Windows on both sides put you in communication with forest and river. The bath includes a tub with European shower.

Woodland Suite

Woodland Suite

Set on vintage Moroccan carpets are two twin beds that can be converted to a king bed, plus a mahogany settee. Perhaps our quietest bedroom, it has views of the forest and hiking trails. The Art Deco influenced bath includes a tub with handheld shower.

Green Mountain Suite

In this inviting room, sunlight filters through one of the original house’s architectural features, an oval rose window. Rest easy on your antique brass queen bed and settee. This en suite bath includes a large shower.
