An Exceptional Country Living Experience

The Cobble House offers an exceptional country living experience. The newly restored home is a refined country retreat, where you and your guests will feel equally comfortable trapsing in with boots from a day fly fishing or hiking, dressed for a fine dinner party, or gathered to celebrate an intimate wedding.

From the time the sun touches the top of mountains around you, till you drift off to sleep to the sound of the wind in the trees, you are surrounded by privacy and comfort. Have your breakfast on the secluded Terrace or gather as a group at the table on the Veranda and watch the Sun march down the hills to warm up the garden.

Head out for a day at the river, or in the river. Head off to the mountains for a hike (the Appalachian Trail passes not 1 mile away) or a day of skiing. Shop, visit festivals, or spend the day at one of the many vineyards, farms, studios or breweries in the White River Valley. Check out our recommendations here.

As the day fades, you might try making your favorite recipes in a kitchen fit for a professional chef (or have a chef cook for you). Drink a cocktail on the terrace or in the Club Room. Have a memorable family dinner in our beautifully appointed Dining Room or on the Veranda.

After dinner, relax in the Sitting Room, Club Room or Reading Room, where you can curl up with a book from our library or stream a movie.

At the end of the day, fall into a deep, restful sleep in one of our five bedroom suites, each with its own character, featuring views of sunrise, mountains, forest and the historic barn.

Make the most of your country house experience – with a full complement of amenities –  for a week-long ski trip, a week of rural exploration, or a summer month in the mountains. Bring your extended family, a group of best friends, or host a series of guests throughout your stay.
